Hamsa

On a white nacreous dial of the Hamsa watch is located a graceful upward palm made in yellow gold with a pattern slotted right through it, in which are viewed an eye and two fishes, and also the eastern ornamentation. On the nacreous field around the Hamsa there is a carved, mat ornament imitating the general nature, which becomes two cross-shaped socket on the axes of 11 and 2 o’clock indications.

Hamsa - is an ancient talisman, an amulet that protects against the evil eye, this is a "protecting hand" or "Hand of God". The word "Hamsa" has Semitic roots and means "five''. Usually, Hamsa is symmetrical, with thumbs on both sides, and doesn't copy the anatomical shape of the palm. Note that, in general, the talisman is an object carrying magical symbols. Its mission is to protect its owner, or endow him with supernatural powers. The very same word "talisman", which goes back to the Greek root "teleo" means "to achieve, to complete, to put in action."

The hand is a symbol of control, leadership; it’s an embodiment of security and of the right way, and it acts as one of the attributes of the allegorical image of fortune.

It is associated with symbols of power and domination; it’s embodies the strength, the loyalty. The initial values of this figure are associated with the embodiment of protection, power; then it is used to express the trust, the friendship, the devotion and the patronage.

The other symbols are often placed in the center of Hamsa to protect against the evil eye - the image of the fish, the eyes or the Stars of David.
